COE Faculty Members Provide INSET for DepEd schools

Five faculty members of the College of Education were invited as resource speakers in the annual In-Service Training (INSET) of the Department of Education held last 24-28 October 2016.

At Ponong Integrated School, Magarao District, Cresencia C. Laguerta, Chair of the Secondary Education Department, taught the elementary, junior, and senior high school teachers the use of interactive teaching strategies in Mathematics. After Laguerta’s lecture, Dr. Arnulfo Reganit, Director of the Ateneo Teacher Training Center, re-oriented the participants on the development and validation of assessment tools. In the afternoon Meriam Z. Tandog, faculty of the Secondary Education Department, demonstrated the different strategies in teaching Araling Panlipunan.

Camarines Sur National High School also requested Laguerta to teach the teachers on how to integrate technology in the teaching of Mathematics on 27 October 2016.

Moreover, Paolo Jose Silang, faculty of the Secondary Education Department, was invited by Union High School, Calabanga District to enlighten them on student-centered instruction.

Lastly, Dr. Naval was invited in Camarines Norte to discuss awareness on visual impairment, inclusive practices and employment.
