AdNU – CLG Conducts LCTP Module 4

The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Local Governance conducted the 4th module of the Leadership for Convergence Training Program (LCTP) entitled Partnerships for Convergence to the DSWD Region 5 City/Municipal Action Team (C/MAT) Leaders on 21-22 October 2016 at the different venues in the University.

The 2-day training program started with the checking of the assignments given to them on Module 3. They were asked regarding the status of the partnerships with the ten industries in their area of assignments; updates of their C/MAT Functionality Improvement Plan; the status of implementation of the projects committed by partners; and plans for the remaining SWDI gaps.

Module 4 composed mainly of three topics: Public Narrative; Introduction to Non-Violent Communication; and Art of Hosting. In Public Narrative, participants were able to have the opportunity to express themselves and were very appreciative of the topic. They were able to learn how to inspire and encourage others by telling their own story. In Non-violent Communication, participants were able to understand the way of dealing with others in a more diplomatic way through its expressions of observations, feelings, needs, and requests. In the Art of Hosting, participants were introduced to different methods of hosting which are useful in the conduct of dialogues and consultation meetings. Mainly, the 4th module focuses on co-creation, the last part of the Bridging Leadership Framework, where participants were trained to work collaboratively with stakeholders and translate those learning into clear goals, outputs, and targets that will make them instruments for societal equity.

At the end of the 2-day training, participants were very thankful for having the opportunity to be trained at the Ateneo de Naga University and they are looking forward to be effective bridging leaders when they go back to their respective area of assignments. They also showed excitement with the announcement of the Culminating activity where participants who have completed the 4 training modules are expected to receive Certificate of Completion.

Partnership for Convergence is the last of the four modules of the Leadership for Convergence Training Program (LCTP) of the ADNU-CLG in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
