At 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, 28 September 2016, the people at Arrupe, Dolan, Bonoan, and Phelan participated in the Earthquake Drill and Medical Scenario. Hundreds of participants from the mentioned buildings marched to the campus rallying points. A total of five “scenario casualties” were reported to the command center at the Ignatius Park, with one patient needing immediate medical attention and brought to the nearby ambulance. Aside from the ambulance, police mobiles and a firetruck was also on site.

The event was organized by the Ateneo School Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management Group in cooperation with the Center for Community Development. The drill lasted for thirty minutes.

The event was observed by various government agencies such as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Public Safety Office (PSO), Naga City Emergency Rescue, and the Philippine National Police-Naga City Police Office (PNP-NCPO). According to SFO1 Mario Reburiano Jr. of the BFP, there were points on which the school might look into such as non-cooperative students and teachers, but the medical scenario team showed excellent performance.

The drill was successful and, if practiced more often, the authorities expect a prepared action, since the community has been trained on how to respond properly when an earthquake strikes.
