Ateneans once again proved their indomitable spirit as the Ignaciana Outreach Activity held last July 30 was organized successfully despite the heavy rains brought by severe tropical storm Carina.
More than 700 students, administrators, faculty & staff showed their generosity to the nine partner communities and four separate barangays coordinated and facilitated by the Center for Community Development Office (CCD) with the assistance from the University Social Involvement Council (USIC). The activity was held in line with the celebration of the feast day of St Ignatius of Loyola.
The outreach activities included community merienda, tree planting, mangrove planting, coastal clean-up, and Bahay Atenista. Other units and organizations of the university also had their respective outreach activities such as the Gawad Kalinga (GK) House Build and Community Merienda at GK Balatas site spearheaded by the Ateneo Personnel Club and Like Project: Libro ni Ignacio conducted by the CCD Voltz, Human Resouce Management Office, and other student organizations and departments. — by Thirdy Baudin, CCD
