On 30 July 2016 the Ateneo De Naga University-Graduate School through the Master in Business Administration, Master in Public Administration, and Master in Philosophy Clusters hosted a lecture discussion via video conferencing entitled “Making Sense of our Common Goods and their Relevance in Business and Administration” at the Bro. Richard Michael Fernando, S.J. Conference Hall, Ateneo de Naga University.
It was a rare opportunity for the university to have Fr. Patrick Riordan SJ, PhD, a Lecturer at the Institute of Religion and Society at Heythrop College, University of London, United Kingdom to be the Resource Speaker for the said event. Through the use of modern technology, he successfully shared his discussions on the topics about the Common Good and the Public Good and their differences and relevance in business and public administration. It provided perspectives on how business and governance contribute in promoting just use and management of our natural and human resources for the common good. The said video conference was simultaneously held live at other Ateneo School Campuses in the country.
In the Ateneo de Naga University, a total of one hundred twelve (112) students and Faculty in the Graduate School including students coming from the University of Nueva Caceres participated in the said event. An open forum also followed and had the opportunity for the Resource Speaker to respond to the questions raised by some of the participants.
The lecture was an outreach activity conducted by the Ateneo de Naga-Graduate School in honor of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus and considered father of Ateneo de Naga University.
