The Ateneo de Naga University congratulates Fr Wimer Tria (Director, University Press) and Mr Tito Valiente (Director, Institute of Bikol History and Culture) for having been recognized by the Writers Union of the Philippines for their contributions in the Philippine literature.

Fr Tria and Mr Valiente were bestowed the Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas 2016 for their contributions in essays and Bikol translations and essays in English, respectively. The awarding ceremony was held on 30 April 2016 at the Ateneo de Manila University.
