As a tradition in the AdNU College of Education, the fifth conversation with a Jesuit was held last 4 September 2015 at the Nursing Amphitheater. This year, Fr Angelo “Buboy” Silerio, SJ served as guest speaker.
For his talk, Fr Silerio shared the history of his religious vocation and the defining moments of his being a Jesuit. He discussed his ministry assignments, reflections on the apostolate of the Jesuits, and the reasons why he stayed in the Society.
The CoE faculty and staff participated actively in the conversation by asking queries, such as the recruitment process of the Society of Jesus, and the organization’s distinct mark in the education (learned) apostolate, among others. Likewise, the participants also expressed their “kamowotan” for the Jesuits in the community.
The annual conversation is aimed to know more the Jesuits by the CoE community, and to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the ministry of the Society of Jesus.
