The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) has developed the country’s first OSA mobile application. Through this innovation, OSA hopes to increase the students’ awareness of the office’s programs and services, and to be more connected with them, wherever they may be.
While OSA maintains its face-to-face interactions with students in the office or in activities and organizations, OSA makes its presence felt on social media. It has its own Facebook page/group and WordPress account. With the app, OSA adds a new way of reaching out to students. As OSA invites the students: “You can pay us a visit. You can read the Handbook. Or you can check your phone.”
The AdNU OSA App features, among others, procedures and requirements of OSA’s services and programs, like how to request for a Certificate of Good Moral Character, how to replace a dilapidated or lost ID, what to do if something gets lost on campus, or how to avail of blood through the Dugong Atenista program.
The app helps students to know important information, like options for boarding houses and dormitories which are near the campus and conducive to their studies, or the list and profile of recognized organizations that fit their talents or interests.
Important policies, like the Uniform and Dress Code and the Code of Discipline, in the Student Handbook are published in this app. The Academic Calendar and OSA’s own schedule of formation activities can also be accessed by students in this app, so they would know dates of examinations, holidays and important institutional and student activities during the school year.
Student organizations will also be guided not just by these calendars but by the guidelines in applying for student activities, requesting the use of the Public Address System and the Xavier Hall, and the like.
The app enables its users to send a message, which shall be transmitted to OSA via e-mail. OSA intends to improve the app as students use it and give OSA feedback on how more it can be useful to them.
Now available on Google Play Store, AdNU students, employees and even parents are highly encouraged to install the app to be familiar with the programs and services of OSA.
