ASRP-ASSRC Presents Results of the 2015 Third Quarter Naga City Poverty and Governance Public Opinion Poll

The Ateneo Student Researchers Pool (ASRP), under the supervision of the Ateneo Social Science Research Center (ASSRC), presented the results of the 2015 Third Quarter Naga City Poverty and Governance Public Opinion Poll on 26 August 2015 at the Multi-Purpose Room, James O’ Brien Library. The Public Opinion Poll has been initiated by the ASSRC as part of its contribution to promote good governance in Naga City and as one of ASRP’s training program in social science research and publication.

In the recently concluded poll results presentation — aside from the usual Naga City residents’ socio-economic demographics, self-rated poverty and measurement of food security and quality of life — the public’s opinion on Naga City CBD Terminal, Naga City People’s Mall, plastic ban, election 2016, street foods, drinking water, millennials, Peñafrancia festival, and tourism were also discussed.

The presentation was attended by the heads of the different Naga City offices and AdNU offices particularly the City Planning and Development Office, Public Safety Office, Market Enterprise and Promotions Office, Naga City People’s Mall Stall Owners Federation, Operations and Maintenance Department of the Metro Naga Water District (MNWD), Arts, Culture & Tourism Office, University Research Council, and College Admissions and Aid Office.

The event was also actively participated by barangay officials, representatives of Naga City councilors, provincial government of Camarines Sur, Jesse M. Robredo Center, Associates in Research and Community Empowerment Services Inc. (ARCES), media, College of Nursing, Allied Business Courses Department of the College of Business and Accountancy, and AdNU students. The public opinion poll has been made possible through the provision of budget by the school through the University Research Council (URC).
