The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) organized a voters’ registration on campus for students and employees who are residents of Naga City. This is an effort to encourage students to participate in the 2016 national and local elections.
With COMELEC stationed at Xavier Hall, 285 came to register as voters, 252 of which were students. According to COMELEC, this number significantly exceeded the usual figure of registrants in a day, which was around 100 to 150. However, given the limited time, not all were accommodated. Given the turnout of registrants, OSA is arranging with COMELEC for another day of registration.
Voters’ registration is one of OSA’s contribution to the University’s interventions for the 2016 national and local elections. Next in line are national situationer and voters’ education sessions.
