The Elementary Education Department of the College of Education conducted seminars on Quality Early Grades Teaching on 11 June 2015 for the BEEd and SPED students and on 18 June 2015 for the ACLC teachers at the Instructional Media Center and CLG Training Center, respectively.
With Sarah Baynas-Ramirez (alumna of the Ateneo de Naga University and a pre-school teacher in an international school in Singapore) as resource speaker, the seminars covered teaching strategies that are developmentally appropriate in achieving Quality Early Grades Programs in the areas of curriculum, learning environment, teacher-child interaction, and parent education and involvement. Also discussed were the implementation of integrated curriculum in Early Grades programs, suggestions on the establishment of ideal learning environment for young children, and acquisition of effective strategies in interacting with children and parents.
