Celebrating 75 Years of Magis, Living the Spirit, and Forging Towards New Frontiers

5 June 2015 — Members and guests of the Ateneo de Naga University community celebrated the school’s 75th Foundation anniversary, under the theme: Celebrating 75 Years of Magis, Living the Spirit, and Forging Towards New Frontier. Several events were held to recall the university’s rich history, highlight the school’s contributions to Bicol, and prepare the community for the challenges of the new frontiers.

The celebration started with a Grand Mass at the covered courts, with Archbishop Rolando Joven Tria Tirona as the Main Presider. The Naga Jesuit community and their guests — Fr Provincial Antonio Moreno, SJ, Fr Xavier Olin, SJ, and Fr Eric Velandria, SJ, among others — served as Concelebrants. A special 75-member choir was also assembled for the occasion.

Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz provided a brief background on the creation of the limited edition stamps. University President Fr Primitivo Viray, Jr, SJ also shared a short history regarding the Pacol campus. Two exhibits (one in the high school campus and the other in the main campus) were also opened afterwards.
