The Ateneo Student Researchers Pool (ASRP) under the supervision of the Ateneo Social Science Research Center (ASSRC) presented the results of the 2015 First Quarter Naga City Poverty and Governance Public Opinion Poll on 17 April 2015 at the Instructional Media Center (IMC). The Public Opinion Poll is initiated by the ASSRC as part of its contribution to promote good governance in Naga City and as one of ASRP’s training program in social science research and publication.
During the presentation, public opinions on various social issues and concerns specifically the Bangsamoro Basic Law, the ASEAN Integration, the proposed Pedestrianization Scheme and the service rating of national leaders, local city officials, and local government offices and institutions were presented.
Guests present in the activity were Wilfredo Prilles Jr., City Planning and Development Officer; Alexander Cayetano, City Civil Registrar; Lito del Rosario, Executive Director of the Public Safety Office (PSO); police officers of the Naga City Police Office (NCPO) headed by Police Supt. Rex Matamorosa; Dr. Alfredo Fabay, Academic Vice-President of Ateneo de Naga University and Dr. Joel Noche, Chairperson of the University Research Council.
The presentation was also actively participated by some barangay officials, city youth officials, representatives of the different Naga City offices, Naga City councilors, Metro Naga Water District (MNWD), Naga City Hospital, Jesse M. Robredo Center, radio stations, University Social Involvement Council (USIC) and Allied Business Courses Department of the College of Business and Accountancy.
The public opinion poll is made possible through the guidance of the ASSRC and provision of budget by the University through the University Research Council (URC).
