Amante Ama, Physics faculty of the College of Education, together with his student Laine Jen S. Huang (BSE Physics 3), presented their scientific papers at the International Conference in Science and Mathematics Education (ICSME 2014) last 28-30 October 2014 at the University of the Philippines National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (UP-NISMED).
On the second day of the conference, 5 parallel sessions showcased 67 research papers and educational practices. Ama (with Lueise P. Bertiz BSE Physics 3 as co-author) presented their paper on Bingohm in Solving Electric Circuits. On the other hand, Laine Jen S. Huang presented her paper on Integration of Fantastic Contraption in the Classroom Instruction for Kinematics.
The ICSME 2014 aims to provide a venue for sharing research, best practices, and innovations among science and mathematics teachers, educators, and administrators in order to implement, support, and sustain science and mathematics curriculum reform. The conference also promotes the exchange of ideas about the continuing professional development as a means of raising the capacities of science and mathematics teachers.
