On 4-5 October 2014, the Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) conducted the Barangay Participatory Planning and Budgeting Workshop (BPPBW) for Barangay San Isidro, Magarao, Camarines Sur.
The BPPBW is an Annual technical assistance being provided by the AdNU-CLG to the barangays in preparing their Annual Investment Plan. This activity is coordination with the AdNU Graduate School Master in Public Administration Program under the team-teaching class of Dr. Malu C. Barcillano and Ms. Jennifer C. San Jose, MPA on PA-204- Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Systems Analysis.
The BPPBW aims to: Know the current situation of the barangay through the State of the Barangay Address; Define, understand and formulate or revisit the shared practical vision of the barangay; Formulate concrete and realistic development strategies to achieve their vision; Know the barangay budgeting elements, components, process and its importance and allocation of funds to various Programs, Projects and Activities; and Adopt the workshop output as the Barangay’s Development Plan for the Budget year.
The Workshop was actively participated by the Barangay Development Council San Isidro, Magarao composed of the Sangguniang Barangay Council and the representatives of the different sectors such as the Women’s, Agriculture, Business, Education, Youth, and Peace and order, Nutrition Scholar, Pastoral and Senior citizens. It was spearheaded by Punong Barangay Philip Salvador A. Señar, Liga ng mga Barangay President of the municipality.
It was facilitated by the Trainers-cum-Facilitators Francis Victor Ruizo, Errol Pederio, Alexander Parrera, CPA and Benita Michele Verdadero. While Jay Abawag, Julie Anne Prado, Marbin Ciudadano and Kathleen May A. Sevilla were the Working Staff during the said activity.
