Anna Bella F. Abellera, an alumna of the College of Education, has been named as one of the ten Outstanding Teachers of the Philippines by the Metrobank Foundation.
She graduated with a degree of Bachelor in Elementary Education in Ateneo de Naga in 1995. She was also trained at the Ateneo de Manila University and at the Fordham University in New York with a Ford Foundation Scholarship. She is currently teaching grade school students at the Naga Central School I and used to teach (part-time) in the College of Education.
Abellera competed with other teachers in the country and, after several rigorous screening and interview phases, was chosen as one of the top ten. The awarding ceremony was held during the 35th anniversary of the Metrobank Foundation on Friday, 5 September 2014 at Makati City.
The Search for Outstanding Teachers was launched on 1984 and, until now, continues to honor deserving and excellent teachers all over the nation.
