CLG Conducts ToP1

On 1-2 September 2014, the Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance conducted the Training on Technology of Participation (ToP1) Level 1: Basic Group Facilitation Methods, which was attended by the participants coming from the Master in Public Administration Cluster, Ateneo Personnel Club and the High School Faculty and Staff Club.

During the training, the participants were introduced to the three (3) Basic Group Facilitation techniques, namely: 1) Basic Discussion; 2) Workshop; and 3) Action Planning.

ToP 1 has been a proven and tested way of generating participation in any group dynamics. It has been extensively utilized in many programs and activities implemented under the USAID funded Governance and Local Democracy (GOLD) Project. Since then, ToP has been successfully applied in generating participation from stakeholders in various ways for different objectives. Further, the said training is useful to the attainment of the group consensus on important issues or targets or when consultation or proposals with stakeholders (e.g. Round table discussion, workshops etc.) are desired or mandated.
