AdNU Achieves 100% Passing Rate in the 2014 GC Licensure Exam

The results of this year’s Guidance and Counseling Licensure Examinations administered by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) was finally released last 11 August 2014. From the Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School (specifically from its Guidance and Counseling cluster), 100% or eight out of eight (all first-time takers) passed the said exam.

AdNU College Guidance Counselor Marie Elaine Abad-Florece also made it to the top four, garnering an average rating of 88.15%. This is the first time that a Bicol-based school has made it to the top ten ever since the PRC ran its first Licensure Exam in Guidance and Counseling last August 2008.

From the eight passers, seven are graduates of the pioneer batch of Masters in Education major in Guidance and Counseling – Non-Thesis Track, while one is a graduate of MA in Education major in Guidance and Counseling – Thesis Track.

Since the implementation of the Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004 (RA 9258), the Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School has already produced three Registered Guidance Counselors from its MA in Education major in Guidance and Counseling – Thesis Track Program.

The performance of the graduates in the Board Exam has further strengthened the university’s resolve to continue working on the Guidance and Counseling’s Program Goal to “facilitate the total personal and professional growth of counselor trainees to meet the guidance and counseling needs in the Bicol Region and the Philippines.”
