The Open University Malaysia in coordination with Ateneo de Naga University College of Business and Accountancy conducted the International Internship/Practicum Orientation for BS Tourism and Business Management students last 10 June 2014 at the Bro. Richie Fernando Hall, Ateneo de Naga University. The objectives of this event are to explore possible collaboration between the three universities, identify the benefits of the program, and prepare the students to be globally competitive. The partnership will also prepare AdNU toward the ASEAN integration in 2015.
The event was attended by Fr. Primitivo E. Viray Jr., SJ, University President; Dr. Agapito C. Rubio Jr., OIC-Dean of College of Business and Accountancy; Anne Marie F. Bagadion, MBA, Chairperson of the Department of Allied Business Courses; Dr. Jerome H. Baldemoro, Practicum Coordinator for Tourism Students; and the students & faculty of the university’s Business Management Program.
Professor G Durairaj, Faculty of Open University Malaysia and Managing Director of the Center for Logistics Management Studies (CLMS) discussed the International Internship framework and length of the program. Thereafter, Ms. Marites Sta. Maria, the CLMS Country Representative, responded to the queries of the students regarding the program.
After the orientation, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Fr. Viray, Dr. Rubio, Ms. Bagadion, Dr. Baldemoro and Prof Durairaj as an initial step towards a promising partnership between Open University Malaysia and Ateneo de Naga University.
