To the Ateneo de Naga University Community:

We have just been informed by the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) of the implementation of the Construction of Drainage and Road Widening Project in front of the Main Gate in Bagumbayan Campus which they intend to implement starting Monday, June 30, 2014.  The project is expected to be completed within thirty (30) calendar days given favorable weather conditions.

The works will include connecting the city drainage along P. Santos Street (Bagumbayan side) to the completed drainage at the Sta. Cruz side.  The City Engineer’s Office has requested for a total closure of the Main gate.  As much as possible, we would like to avoid total closure of the Main Gate so as not to hamper access to the campus, but if and when necessary, we will have to close areas for safety considerations and to ensure the timely completion of the project.  Therefore, in the event of necessity, vehicle owners may not be able to use the Main Gate and vehicle owners are advised to use the Sta. Cruz Gate in entering the University. 

Finally, we ask for the cooperation and understanding of the University community as this city project will create inconveniences and possible distractions to classes and University operations.  In the long run, we hope that this project will finally address the flooding issues along Ateneo Avenue and Bagumbayan as we all desire to improve services and facilities.
