AdNU Celebrates 74th Foundation Anniversary

The Ateneo de Naga University celebrated its 74th Foundation Anniversary this 5 June 2014. This is also the second year of the three-year celebration towards the university’s Diamond Anniversary in 2015. This year’s foundation celebration is focused on the recovery of the Naga City River.

The celebration kicked-off with a Fun Run at 5:00 AM, followed by a community breakfast at the Xavier Hall.  At 9:00 AM the community gathered for a Thanksgiving and Mass of the Holy Spirit.  The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Fr. Raymund Benedict ‘RB’ Hizon, S.J., Director of the College Campus Ministry.  Fr. RB was concelebrated by Fr. Primitivo Viray, Jr., S.J., Fr. Jose Embile, S.J., Fr. Samuel Dizon, S.J., and Fr. Ruben Reyes, S.J.  After the Mass, the exhibits on the “Save the Naga River” project was officially opened to the public at the Plaza Rizal, Naga City.

The other activities for the day were the information drive on the “Save the Naga River” project among the eleven barangays situated near the Naga River in the afternoon, and a concert for a cause featuring Joey Ayala and his band in the evening at the Plaza Quezon, Naga City. Co-sponsored by the Naga City Local Government and AdNU, the concert is free and open to the public.
