The Ateneo Remontados Debate Society conducted the 4th Oriental Mindoro Inter-varsity (OMIV) Debate Tournament for high school students last 16-19 January 2014 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy (IHMA) in Pinamalayan, Mindoro Oriental. This is an annual commitment of the organization which started last 2011. The Ateneo debaters conduct a seminar-workshop on debating in the first day, followed by actual competitions among the participants in the last two days. In 2011-2013, the OMIV was sponsored by the St. Augustine Seminary while this year`s activity was supported by IHMA.

This year, there were ten private and public high schools that participated in the OMIV. Facilitators and speakers were Danice Bermas (AB Development Communication), Michael David Tionloc (BSBA Legal Management), Mariegrace Regine Vizcarra (BS Accountancy), and Diane Rubios (BS Psychology). Faculty members of IHMA, who were also debaters when they were college students, served as project head, tournament director and logistics officers. The Remontados moderator Dr. Bernadette Gumba accompanied the debaters in this endeavour.
