Learn more, do more, and be more. MAGIS! — this is one of the pillar mantras of the Ateneo Golden Knights Sports Program and a challenge to each and every member to strive for excellence on and off the court.

Last January 18-19, coaches from all over Luzon went to the British School Manila in Bonifacio Global City to attend a coaching workshop and training program through the Junior NBA. The event was spearheaded by the Alaska ballers to promote the game and help coaches gain more insights and ideas in mentoring young aspirants of the game of basketball.

Present during the 2-day workshop were the 2 new coaches of the Ateneo de Naga Golden Knights Basketball Team. Coach John Paul Disuanco, Head Coach of Men`s Basketball Team B and Assistant Coach of the Men`s Basketball Team A.

Accompanying him was Coach Peter John Barcelon, the incoming Head Coach of the basketball team A. Both were former players of the Ateneo Basketball Program.

The event comment with Coach Sefu Bernard showing the coaches the techniques in starting practices with high energy and high morale from athletes. The participants also learned the easy ways to incorporate fundamental drills with character building. The activity ended in a high note, with coaches excited to impart and implement their newfound knowledge in their respective schools and barangays.
