UNIT INFORMATION

The Ateneo Language Training Center is a unit under the Literature and Language Studies Department that offers special language programs and short-term courses for professionals, students, and non-professionals who wish to improve and develop their communication skills in different components, namely, Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. It specifically provides IELTS preparation courses and Intensive English Programs, as well as selected foreign language courses, on a tutorial and class setup.

ALTC Offerings

IELTS Review Program

The Ateneo IELTS Review Program is a 10-16 hours comprehensive review designed to help participants get a high IELTS band score. The Program consists of four (4) basic modules reflecting the four modes of communication highlighted in the IELTS, namely: Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking. The program design caters to the needs of professionals (e.g., teachers, nurses, doctors) and non-professionals (e.g., caregivers, domestic helpers, college students, some skilled workers) who, for the most part, are the ones interested in working or studying abroad.

Review fee: 

Tutorial: P 500/hour + P 500 for materials

Class: P 4,500 + P 500 for materials  (10-12 hours training )

Intensive English Program for Foreign Nationals/Locals

INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM (IEP) COURSE OFFERINGS

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR FOREIGNERS

  • 120 hours ELP course designed for adult English language learners who need to improve their speaking, reading, writing, and grammar skills for studies or employment prospects.
  • Three-tier study (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced)
  • Can be accomplished within 6 months to 1 year, depending on the student’s availability and preference.

Fees: 

Tutorial: P 500/hour + P 500 for materials

           Group:

  1. 3-6 participants
    Training fee (P300/hour x 120 hours)  P 36,000.00
    Materials:  500/student
  2. 7-10  participants
    Training fee (P 250/hour  x 120) P 30,000/student

SHORT-TERM ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAM

  • Designed to enhance the learners’ competencies in all areas through multiple exercises, tasks, and drills aimed at further enhancing their proficiency in the use of the English language.
  • All modules are equally proportioned in a month, with each having classroom discussion, as well as interactive learning.
  • 80 hours of training for foreigners looking for a short-term English Course
  • Can be accomplished within 3-6 mos. Depending on the student’s availability and preference.

Fees:

  • Tutorial: P 500/hour + P 500 for materials

Group:

  • 3-6 participants
    Training fee (P300/hour x 80 hours) P 24,000.00
    Materials: 500/student
  • 7-10  participants
    Training fee (P 250/hour  x 80) P 20,000/student
    Materials: P 500/student

EXECUTIVE CLASSES

  1. 10 to 15 hours short term course on specific topics /areas:
    ● Presentation Skills
    ● Business Writing
    ● Conversational English
    ● Academic Writing

Fees:

  • Tutorial: 500/hour

  • P 4,000.00 + P500 for materials

Foreign Language Courses

Twenty hours of basic foreign language courses on the following:
a.) Basic Mandarin
b.) Spanish for beginners
c.) Latin for Beginners
d.) Basic French

All classes are open for tutorial or group sessions.

Fees:

  • Tutorial : P 600/hour  + P 500 for materials 

Group:

  • P 6,000 + P 500 for materials
