AdNU-CLG Entices Participants with Webinar ‘Cash Landing On You’

The Ateneo de Naga University, Center for Local Governance, in coordination with the Graduate School. conducted a webinar entitled ‘Cash Landing On You : Strategies on Concretization of LGU’s Approved Annual Investment Plan’ on November 4, 2022, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm via ZOOM Cloud Meetings.

As the nation begins to implement the Mandanas Ruling in 2022, addressing the disparity in financial resources among local government units (LGUs), strengthening LGU capability, and boosting transparency and accountability are crucial to achieving decentralization. How can LGUs maximize their funding without compromising any of their strategies or objectives? The government’s financial planning and budgeting are the main instruments for achieving socioeconomic growth.

The webinar started with an Opening Message delivered by Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Director of Center for Local Governance, and the Dean of the Graduate School.

Ms. Melody E. Relucio, Provincial Director of the Department of Interior and Local Government of Camarines Sur, talks through and introduces strategic methods regarding the most effective way on the division of financial resources. The speaker also provides strategies and examples on creation of revenue-producing projects to support the needs of their administration and community.

The said webinar was joined by almost two hundred (200) registered participants coming from different academic institutions and government sectors across the nation through ZOOM Cloud Meetings. Moreover, a portion of the webinar was recorded to be published through social media platforms of Center for Local Governance.

The Webinar and open forum was facilitated by Ms. Virginia Pascual, MPA Student of Ateneo Graduate School, multiple questions were sent through the ZOOM chat box and gracefully answered by the speaker.

Together with the Fr. James O’Brien Library’s technical support staff, Sherwin Perez and Emmanuel Llorin (headed by Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian) the activity was made out successfully.
