ADNU Holds Kuwentuhang Bayan Training for Faculty and Staff

The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Community Development(CCD) and University Social Involvement Council, held a “Kuwentuhang Bayan” training last 8 April 2019, at Multipurpose Room, 3rd Floor, Fr. James O’Brien Library, Bagumbayan Campus with fifteen (15) participants- Faculty and Staff from Institutional Offices, College and SHS attended the event.

This one-day KB aims to make this training a platform for the participants to voice out their issue, claim their aspirations and encourage them to be an engaged citizen and to be involved in politics through these three (3) activities; Conscientization, Engaged Citizenship and Empowerment.

On Conscientization, through guided contemplation and national situationer, the participants became aware of the national issues and recognition of power, and to look within themselves the challenges as they become engaged citizen in their localities.

On Engaged Citizenship, the participants they were able to look into their aspirations for their community and the different barriers that hinder in achieving its goals through visioning and problem analysis.

On Empowerment, through action planning and electoral discernment, the participants were able to identify the most pressing issue/s in that need to be addressed in their community, the actions or resources that they need in fulfilling their community’s aspirations and those persons or group to be engaged towards empowerment.
