In preparation for the implementation of the Senior High School (SHS) Voucher Program and the Education Service Contracting (ESC) Program for Junior High School this coming academic year, 2016-2017, the Department of Education (DepEd) through the Private Education Assistance Committee, a trustee of the Fund for Assistance to Private Education, hosted by the Ateneo Teacher Training Center, conducted two-day Regional Orientation Conference for ESC participating schools and non-DepEd SHS last May 2 and 3 at the Villa Caceres Hotel.
The first day was dedicated to the SHS Voucher Program in which the 453 school administrators and school owners from all over the Region were apprised by Rhodora Ferrer, PEAC-FAPE Executive Director, on the detailed guidelines and requirements, as well as the functionalities of Voucher Management (VMS). The VMS will be the platform for the submission reports to DepEd and PEAC and for the creation of billing statements for voucher enrollees. DepEd Regional Director, Ramon Abcede, updated the participants on the Senior High School Programs.
The second day focused on the ESC program in which the schools were updated on the latest program guidelines and on the ESC Information Management System (IMS).
The two-day conference ended with closing remarks from the PEAC-FAPE Regional Program Coordinator, Dr. Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, by encouraging the school participants to optimize the ESC slot allocations and exerting their best efforts to recruit more students for the SHS.
Gilbert Pado, Cornelia Lurcha, Dr. Ma. Jeanette Naval, Ruth de Leon and Leizel Bermudo served as secretariat.
