Past Works (1992 - 1995)

Researches made by Ateneo de Naga Biology Majors [ANBIOM], the Nature Crusaders, and faculty members of the Department of Math and Sciences)  

  • Save Lake Bato Project (1991).  It was undertaken in cooperation with the Holy Trinity Parish of Bato (c/o Fr. Danny Imperial) and its Parish Pastorl Council.  It used the Rapid Resource Assessment (RRA).  The study sought to provide vital information on the natural and human resources of Bato communities surrounding the lake, the present environmental conditions of the lake and its surroundings, the environmental problems experienced by the communities. 

  • The data and recommendations generated from the study were used by the parish in the proposal submitted to Plan International Bikol for environmental education programs and for the organization of multi-sectoral environmental planning and monitoring body.
  • Environmental Assessment of Four Barangays in Looc River, a lagoon of San Miguel Bay (1992).  It was conducted in cooperation with Pag-asang Bikolnon and the school’s Community Outreach Program, and the Nature Crusaders.  This study focused on the health problems related to the environment.  The study output specifically were used in environmental education and livelihood projects which could uplift the economic conditions of the people and eventually helping them improve health conditions.
  • Environmentl Assessment of the Naga River (1993).  The project was conducted in cooperation with the Naga City Government and the Nature Crusaders.  The purpose of the study was to come up with an overall environmental situationer of the Naga River.  The study results have been used in formulating a rehabilitation program for the Naga River.
  • Environmental Assessment of Lake Baao-Bula, Camarines Sur.  The research was done for Peace-Bikol of Pili.  The research was conducted by the Biology Majors of the BIOMES F.I. with the assistance of the Nature Crusaders of the Ateneo.The purpose of the study was to come up with an overall environmental situation of the lake, its people and its resources most specifically how people utilized this resource and why such resource had become degraded.  The study was conducted in October 1993.The research data were used during the consultations with local groups in developing an alternative development strategy for the lake area which could benefit all the communities around it.
