Activities

  1. Training of students and some faculty of the Math and Science Department on research methods and maintaining “Quality Assurance” in doing research.
  2. Has established a linkage with an organization, the Partners for Responsible Initiatives in Sustainable Management (PRISM), Inc. in Metro Manila.  This group is composed of environmental scientists capable of assisting the INECAR in developing its research capability. 
  3. Acquisition of some updated books and journals in biology and the environment
  4.  Has written scientific articles for publications in national and international journals

  5. Has submitted research and project proposals for:

    6. a) Environmental Education Program for the Conservation of the Bicol National Park – in cooperation with the Bicol National Park Foundation, Inc.
    b) Environmental Assessment of Lake Bato – in cooperation with Caceres Social Action Foundation, Inc. (CASAFI) and the Holy Trinity Parish of Bato.


Present Plans

  1. Continue establishing linkages with the government agencies, local government, NGOs, parishes and other organizations for strengthening conservation activities in the Bicol Region
  2. Create long term programs for the environmental education of the youth especially through integration of local environmental issues with formal education.
  3. Long term ecosystem-specific research which is multidisciplinary in approach integrated with some courses of the school
  4. Networking with other research and environmental education institutes both local and national
