Ateneo de Naga Placed 4th Over-all in National Programming Tilt

Ateneo de Naga placed 4th over-all in the recently concluded National Inter-Collegiate Programming Competition held at University of San Jose Recoletos, Cebu City last November 22, 2008. It has improved its standing from last year's 8th to this year's 4th. This feat is not possible without the outstanding performance of the two teams who represented the school:

ADNU Team Xavier                             ADNU Team Ignatius
         1. Salvador Tapel III - BSCS2                 1. Angelo Macaraig - BSCS4
         2. Fermin Agomaa III - BSCS4                2. Mario Antonio Cape - BSCS4
         3. Jelly Pantoja - BSIT3                          3. Mitchell Zachary Imperial - BSCS4

This year is the best finish ever that the school had in its 7 years of joining programming competitions. Teams Xavier and Ignatius finished 13th and 16th, respectively in the over-all team standings, just behind the teams from UP Diliman, Ateneo de Manila, and De La Salle University Manila. Although Team Xavier was awarded as the Best Team from Luzon (excluding NCR), it managed to beat also all other schools in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
