With overwhelming and overflowing words of gratitude addressed to their families, friends, teachers and to the Almighty God, the newly passed Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) of the Ateneo de Naga University’s (ADNU) graced the Testimonial Dinner held last 12 November 2009 at the Arrupe Convention Hall
The event started with an Invocation and the singing of National Anthem led by Donnel Ramirez of the ADNU Choir. It was followed shortly after by the Opening Remarks of Dr. Debbie Adriano, College of Commerce Dean where she shared her memoirs with the new CPAs and reminded them that “leaders are encouragers.” The Giving of Plaques and Tokens to the CPA Board Passers led by Dr. Adriano and assisted by Joel Gogola, Program Director, Accountancy and Helinita Ruiz, Accountancy Department Chairperson came next in the program.
10th Placer CPA Board passer Paul Robert Morata’s rather humorous testimony was the first in line of the series of testimonies confided by the board passers. Morata’s Testimony was followed by a song number from Freshmen Accountancy Students. Then the next ten passers gave their testimonies as well. After which a sumptuous dinner was served while playing an Audio Visual Presentation about the Passers.
After the dinner and presentation, the program resumed with the testimonies of the next ten passers. An intermission number from Ardy Sale and Kaerah Catimbang followed. The next five passers then shared their testimonies. It was succeeded by a dance number from the Ateneo Dance Club. Then it was down to the last five passers to give their testimonies. The event was capped by the Closing Remarks of Mrs. Helenita Ruiz, Accountancy Department Chairperson.
The ADNU’s Passing Rate for the said CPA Board Examinations was 54%, one of the highest in its history while the National Passing Rate is 41%. A total of 39 ADNU students passed.
