The Ateneo de Naga University, through it Basketball Program, is staging the Ateneo Basketball Camp (ABC) from 8 April –7 May 2010 at the ADNU Covered Courts. This activity is open to all kids age 10-15 years old. Schedule of training is from Mondays to Fridays, 8:00AM to 10:30AM.
The Ateneo Basketball Camp (ABC) aims to promote the fundamentals of the sport of basketball to the young and at the same time impart good values that the kids can apply both to the game and in their young lives.
Started in 2007, the ABC has trained hundreds of kids all over Bicol. Every year, kids go through a month of basketball experience that allows them not only to learn the game of basketball, but more importantly, allow them to meet new friends and learn insights through the camp’s daily lecture on values in sports.
The one-month program is highlighted with its week-long tournament scheduled on the final week of training. In this activity, the campers are pitted against players in their age bracket in actual game situation. The top campers are also selected and would compete against teams within Naga and from nearby provinces.
As a whole, the ABC believes that as much as basketball is the activity highlighted in the month long activity, it pushes for the campers to gain life-long experiences and lessons through their stay in the program.
