Outreach Program

The College had its outreach in Cagsao, Calabanga, Camarines Sur. There were 41 students and five faculty members including the dean who participated on the said activity. The activities conducted were health education to childbearing mothers, feeding the malnourished children and distribution of goods (rice, old clothes) to selected families. The activity was most welcomed by the community. This community will be one of the target communities for the student’s exposure come school year 2006-2007. There were 67 adults and 80 children served.

The most important event that happened was the visit of the Board of Nursing together with the CHED Region V representative. They came to evaluate and conduct inspection and evaluation of the records and facilities in connection with our application for Government Recognition. The results of the findings are already submitted to the office of the President.

On October 12, 2004, the CHED Technical Panel for Nursing Education made a surprised visit to the base hospital of the College. They suggested to look for a tertiary hospital with a 100 bed capacity, 80% occupancy.

On January 5, 2005, certification was given to Ateneo de Naga University, College of Nursing stating that Bicol Medical Center (BMC), a tertiary hospital and a duly authorized and training agency of the Department of Hospital was granted by Dr. Edgar O. Esplana, MSHP, upon instruction from the Department of Health National Office, as base hospital of the College of Nursing.
