Academic Advisement
Each
student in the College is assigned an academic advisor, a faculty
member responsible for the student's academic welfare. The advisor sees
to it that the student-advisee follows his/her assigned curriculum by
taking the appropriate subjects that would lead to his/her successful
completion of his/her course on time, if not earlier.
The faculty advisor is assigned by the department chairperson. Please contact your department chairperson for details.
Placement Assistance
The
College of Computer Studies , through the Office of the Dean,
complements the services of the College Guidance Office by publishing a
resume book of its graduates. The resume book is sent to 100 firms and
organizations belonging to the Top 1000 Corporations in the Philippines
and involved in IT and IT-related products and services. Students may
likewise suggest company names which they believe should be included in
the distribution list of the resume books.
The
Dean's Office likewise does manpower referrals, in case companies and
other organizations send invitations or announcements for job vacancies
or hiring.
Library Extension
In
an effort to bring the library closer to the students, as well as to
augment the library collection on IT education, the College acquired
more than a hundred titles of new books and other publications which
students can borrow. Located at the office of the college dean, the
library extension is more accessible to students, physically or
otherwise. It will be noted that the main library is housed at the
O'Brien Library Building, 100m away from the classrooms the students
use in Phelan Hall. Moreover, the office of the dean keeps extended
office hours, including at times weekends and holidays.
The
book collection was funded by the Commission on Higher Education,
through its Higher Education Development Fund and more particularly the
Center of Development for Excellence in IT Education fund.
