Facilities
Five Computer Laboratories equipped with the latest networked
personal computers installed with software development tools and productivity
software are provided for the use of Computer Science, Information Technology,
and Information Systems students. All computers in these laboratories are
configured to work with the centralized user authentication and file storage
system called CSSLOS (Computer Science Single Log-On System). The LINUX-based
CSSLOS File server runs samba, apache, and LDAP. All the computers in the
laboratories primarily runs Windows XP Operating System. Work is underway to
make all of these computers able to dual boot (either Windows XP or Fedora
Linux).
One of these five computer laboratories (CS Lab 4) has an
open-laboratory use policy. Students enrolled in computer subjects without a
computer laboratory use schedule may use the computing facilities in CS Lab 4
from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
Two computer laboratories with specialized software are dedicated
to the use of Digital Illustration and Computer Animation students. The Maya
Laboratory is equipped with computers configured for intensive 3D computer
animation rendering. Another computer laboratory is equipped with Apple MacG4
workstations running software for digital illustration and image manipulation.
Students also use the Blue room for various digital arts and computer animation
production.
